Tim Ames moved to Fairbanks from Missouri in 1964 at the age of eleven. With no formal art training, he began painting the images that surrounded him and captured his lively imagination. Tim's paintings earned him as much acclaim locally as his theatrical scenic designs earned nationally, being featured in national opera companies coast to coast.
Tim's brief life came to an end in December 1989, leaving behind an impressive body of work reflecting his intense love affair with Interior Alaska.
