Antique Quadruple Silver-plated Victorian Covered Chilled Butter dish. The bottom holds ice to keep your butter nice and cool. The glass insert has small holes to allow airflow and prevent condensation. Butter knife included but not from same era. A great and unique piece for fine dining, entertaining, formal dining, or wedding. The cover has a beautifully ornate handle. There is a 'hook' at the top which holds the lid and a place that holds the butter knife. The bottom had a repair done, many years ago.
Maker's mark is Meriden Silverplate Co with a lion facing left.
